The Humane Society of Manatee County adopts on a 'First Come, First Serve' basis. Requirements for Adoption Approval: • Identification Card • Verbal or written approval from landlord or HOA • Proof of current rabies vaccine for any currently owned pets • If you are adopting a dog over 6 months old, a meet and greet with our Behavior Specialist is required. Every cat must go home in a carrier. Adopters may bring their own or purchase a cardboard carrier from HSMC for $5.Every dog must go home with a leash and collar. Adopters may bring their own or purchase from HSMC. Pricing will vary depending on the size of the collar and length of the leash.
