Hi there folks!<br/><br/>My name is Calhoun and I am a Walker Hound. It means I like to walk a lot, right? LOL I know I walk a lot once my sniffer gets to going!!!<br/><br/>So, my selfish, mean , horrible original owner knew nothing about the hound breed and decided that they just could not handle me. Wait for it.....these %#$@&! took me to the vet to be put down!!!! Who in their right mind does that ???!!! Karma must surely be coming for them....<br/><br/>Anyway, sorry about that rant. So the vet of course calls the most awesomest peeps at Lucies to see if they could take me in. I am after all, a perfectly healthy and handsome dog!!! <br/><br/>Since my breed is known for talking and or howling, I of course do that. At any moment I could break out into a Hank Jr song and knock your socks off!! Most of the time it's when I'm hungry though, because it's probably the only human interaction I received from my original owners.<br/><br/>One bit of advice about us hounds - as I said, we will howl. We will sniff and sniff and sniff and do not pay attention to anyone or anything around once our sniffers get to sniffing. We are known to be stubborn (extremely at times), but have a huge heart of gold and are very loyal.<br/><br/>My adopter needs to be able to provide a lot of attention and be able to handle all of my hound instincts and keep me occupied whenever possible. The more you love me, the more I love you! Please inquire about me!!<br/><br/>*** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home.
