C-me West Highland White Terrier / Westie Rockaway, NJ

Please Note ** THIS DOG IS LOCATED IN SOUTHERN VIRGINIA. ADOPTERS MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO MEET AND ADOPT.

C-Me is a 7 year old, spayed, female westie who is being retired. She is healthy, up to date on her vaccines, and on heartworm preventive year round.
She is sweet, outgoing, and friendly. She is crate trained, housebroken and uses a doggie door. If you have a different situation than that, she may need a little time and training to adjust.
She will need a refresher course on leash walking as she is a country dog and it has been a few years since she has needed to walk on a leash. She was shown when she was younger and was good at that time.

She has never had to climb stairs in her environment, so will need to be taught this is her new home, if needed. With time and patience, she will learn this quickly as she is very smart.
She is very cooperative for grooming, bathing ,nail trims, etc.
She will listen, but is still a terrier, and does have selective hearing at times.
She can get very bossy and will be dominant with same size female dogs. She will only tolerate them for so long then asserts herself making sure they know she is the Queen. Because of this she will NOT be adopted to a home with another female dog or ANY dog smaller than a westie.
We are also looking for a home owner with a securely fenced yard she cannot get through, under or over. Not looking for homes with children under 10. No in ground pools or other bodies of water which she could gain access to unless specifically fenced around it. We are looking for someone who has previously had a westie in their recent past, not a first time dog or terrier owner, or someone who had a dog 20 years ago.
This is NOT an apartment /condo /city dog.
She has always lived in a quiet farm setting and has had room to run and play.
She likes her toys and loves her people. She wants to be with her people, following them around or laying on her favorite bed in the same room.
