Meet Butterpup

Ready to share her story, meet Butterpup! ?

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by and checking out my story. I have spent most of my life in one place. I was adopted as a pup and became an outside dog. Life was good for a while. There was a boy who would always come hang out with me and play with me. As time went on, life got busier and busier. I started spending my days left to my own devices and just not getting much attention. After going back and forth, my family decided it was best that they rehome me. I just wasn't getting the attention I needed from them and they wanted me to go to someone who had more time to spend with me. They ended up surrendering me to this rescue, so I could find the PYRfect home! ?

My name is Butterpup and I am a 1.5-year-old female Great Pyrenees. I currently weigh about 69lbs and won't be getting much bigger. I have a super-soft coat and an amazing personality!

Below you will find what my foster has to say about me

"Butterpup is everything you could hope for in a dog. She is playful, she is loving, she is silly, she is calm, and she can be snuggly. She has adjusted to being an insider dog wonderfully. She has discovered the couch and loves taking naps on it. She really loves the other dogs and is often playing with them. Butterpup is also a very sensitive girl. She can pick up on your mood very quickly. She will need to go to a quieter home as she becomes nervous when someone raises their voice. She does fine with our cats and has good house manners. She loves to be with her people and will try to squeeze through the cat door(unsuccessfully) if you go into a room without her. She enjoys coming on the couch for cuddles but is also not a super needy dog. She loves attention but is content to play with the other dogs or take a nap. She is a good mix of playful and calm, and would do great in almost any type of home setting!"

??To My New Family (Part 1) ??

While you were reading what my foster had to say, I have compiled a list of some things that my potential family should know about me.

?I do well when meeting new people. I may be a little shy, but warm up quickly. Especially if there are other dogs that are happy to meet them as well. I have not been to any public outings but did fine at my vet visit. I have good manners and don't really jump on people.

?I have not shown to be a big chewer in my foster home. I do play with toys here and there but I would much rather be playing with the other dogs. I am not sure if I am a water dog or not.

? I know food aggression and resource guarding are common with rescue dogs. I have not shown signs of having either in my foster home. It is important that this is something my family be aware of and still monitor should they have other dogs in my new home. Always better to be prepared just in case ?

? I am good with other dogs. In fact, I LOVE them! I have a blast playing with them and learning ques from them.

? I am being fostered around cats and do great with them.

? I have not been around any kids so am unsure how I would do with them.

?I am mostly potty trained. My foster doesn't kennel so I have no experience with the kennel. When no one is home or at night, I am given free roam of the house and do excellent!

? I am unsure how I would do in an apartment setting. I have not shown to be very vocal in my foster home so far. I walk okay on a leash but could use some more working with. Currently, I tend to keep my head to the ground and walk behind you. I do ride well in the car but wouldn't say I love road trips.

?I am being fostered in Kiowa, OK. We do not send our dogs on transports or ship them. This means my new family needs to pick me up, even if they are out of state.

?My adoption fee is $225. That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.

??To My New Family (Part 2) ??

If I have stolen your heart then please read on to make sure you are the right fit for me!

My ideal home would be to have another playful dog. That is a total must for me! I LOVE playing and get the biggest grin on my face. I would do fine in a calmer or more active home setting. I have one of those personalities that tend to just draw people in and make them smile! ?
