Butterfly's Story

BUTTERFLY <br/>Butterfly came to Saving Grace in August 2021, with her sister, Caterpillar. These sweet girls were rescued from a hoarding situation with around 40 other dogs. They were terrified and shut down when we got them, but they have improved so much in just a few weeks. Their tails have gone from tucked with fear, to wagging with joy. They are happy to see us and comfortable with being petted and picked up. We love seeing them transform into happy dogs after what they've been through. We guess her breed to be corgi mix and she's around 2 years old or less. We will update her bio as we get to know her better. Message us if you're interested in meeting Butterfly.

Saving Grace Rescue LBK's Adoption Policy

Our adoption fee is $225 (locally). This fee goes toward the cost of our vetting expenses for the dog, which includes the dog being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We require an application and home visit for adoption of one of our dogs. We want to ensure our dogs are placed in forever homes and are not in a situation that would be unsafe for the dog or perpetuate the misconceptions surrounding Pit Bulls. We prefer that adopters be at least 21 years old, but we will consider applicants under 21 on a case by case basis - so please still fill out an application. Please keep in mind that we know our dogs well; behavior, temperament, special needs, etc. Any decisions we make are in trying to do what's best for our dogs and the homes that we adopt them into. **If you are adopting out of state and we are sending a dog for adoption through our partner, Project Freedom Ride, the adoption fee is $500 which covers all vetting requirements and transport costs.**

Our Mission

Our rescue was founded by a group of friends. We saw a strong need for advocates for Pit Bulls in our community. The Lubbock, TX animal shelter takes in close to 2,000 Pit Bulls each year and euthanizes approximately 80% of Pit Bulls that arrive at the shelter.
