Buster wants you to know that he absolutely loves being around people. He lives to be in the same room with his people and will follow them from room to room (including the bathroom if you forget to lock the door). The song "Me and my shadow" was most likely written with Buster in mind. When it comes to walking on the leash he tends to forget he is a big boy and will pull when he sees squirrels, birds, or dogs. His current foster has been jogging with him 3 miles daily and after the first mile of constant pulling, he settles into a manageable pace and is a joy. Although he thinks he is probably perfect, he has agreed that he will engage in positive reinforcement training if his new owners need it. When outdoors in a fenced yard he loves running freely, playing with other dogs, and laying in the sun.
The ideal home for Buster would be one in which he is rarely left alone or one where he can join his person for any/all adventures. He may also do well in a home with another four-legged friend as he lived with another dog the first part of his life. He gets excited about transitions but quickly chills out. He is easy-going, loving, and very loyal. He needs a person who is patient and empathic to his separation anxiety. He is mostly a couch potato but likes a little running so best described as a medium to low energy dog. He much prefers to come along for the car ride or have a friend come over to keep him company. When left home alone for any period of time he clears window sills of anything obstructing his view as he awaits his person's return. He will also chew things, and has developed a taste for purses.
