Buster Terrier Mix Manhattan, KS

Meet Buster, possibly part Norwich Terrier. He weighs around 12# and is 2 years old. Buster has been with PPAWS since September 2020.
When he came he was very fearful. We have had him evaluated by a trainer who tells us he has several feral traits. The major trait that you would have to accept is that he is very shy to most people. He sometimes barks and growls at new people so to get you to go away. Making new friends is very difficult for him. It would be several weeks before he could show that he trusts you and wag his happy tail. He would hide in his kennel if you kept an eye on him. While not being watched, he will explore.
What Buster needs is a daily structure. Doing the same thing day after day. Over the last few months we have discovered that he loves to go for a walk. His leash manners are superb. He struts himself like he owns the world.
To help with his fearfulness Busters forever home would be best to have a partner dog, to help guide him how a dog fits into your home, he would love a fenced yard to do his exploring and squirrel chasing. His wire crate is his safe place when he is scared, and because he can be ornery, it is best to kennel him when you need to be gone. He will go to his kennel upon command. Small or young children can be somewhat unpredictable, so probably best he not live with small children.
As you can see, this boy is special and will take a very special home. He is not a lap dog at this time, but if you get down to his level he loves belly rubs and scratches, it makes him smile. If you think you are interested in finding out more about Buster. Please fill out an application.
