Meet Buddy Beagle
FOSTERED IN: Hampshire, IL 60140
ESTIMATED DOB: 2007
WEIGHT: 37lbs
KIDS: Yes
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Unknown
HISTORY:
Buddy Beagle came from an open admission animal control facility.
ABOUT:
Buddy Beagle is currently being fostered in a multiple dog household, he is great with the dogs who run at the same speed as him, but isn’t a fan of the younger and more energetic dogs. He would do best in a home with dogs who are more calm/lazy. When he is feeling overwhelmed he will remove himself from the situation by running to the safety of his crate. Buddy Beagle is very much a beagle, he is very laid back and agreeable and is happy to meet new people and new dogs. Buddy Beagle is being fostered with a 13 year old and he loves them, but similar to dogs he will probably be happiest with children who are more calm/gentle. Buddy Beagle loves his crate and will run to it for both comfort and relaxation as he will nap in it for many hours during the day. He also works very hard to get his blankets JUST RIGHT before those aforementioned naps.
Buddy Beagle is very good about asking to go outside to go potty. His foster mom says he is pretty quiet in the house but loves to give some Beagle arooos when he is out in the yard. He has a 4ft fenced yard and unless someone puts him in a harness attached to a pulley system there is no way he is going over the top. His jumping days are over (if he even had any jumping days to begin with…). Buddy Beagle is generally very low energy, mostly napping or lounging, but every once in a while he will get a spurt of energy and will run and play a bit.
Buddy Beagle is every awesome thing that many beagles are: Easy going, loving, sweet, gentle. Also like many beagles, there are two major events in his daily life worthy of a celebration: breakfast and dinner. He loves to spend time in the yard investigating every single smell. He also loves people and loves some good snuggles.
Buddy has a growth on his side that has been tested and determined to be a benign lipoma. Because the surgery would be very invasive we have opted to not remove it based on the recommendation of our veterinarian.
