Buddy German Shepherd Dog & Belgian Shepherd / Malinois Mix Fulton, CA

Hi, I'm Buddy! I'm a big, handsome guy at about 80 pounds. My current friends think I'm most likely a GSD/Malinois combo. I'm not one of those crazy energy types but I do have energy to burn and will need regular walks, play, and adventures. I walk fairly well on leash, but I do pull at times, especially when I need to smell that perfect treeI'm working on it!

I'm a pretty friendly boy but I can be a little protective at times (I did growl a little when a stranger came up to my foster mom's car). I AM a GSD after all, right? I was fine at the vet, getting my ears cleaned and just a general check up. I admit, I would prefer a gentle but confident leadersomeone who can guide me firmly without being too harsh, since I may not have been handled very kindly in the past.

I get along well with neutral dogs and enjoy their company, but if another dog comes at me barking or with too much energy, I might react (I do stop when asked though). I'm also a TOTAL squirrel fiendchasing them is my favorite sport! That said, I'm definitely not a cat or small critter guy!

I'm a smart boy and already know sit, down, shake, and wait (even though waiting is tough for me). I'll happily jump up on whatever you ask, I ride great in the car, and I mostly ignore people when out walking. My recall still needs work, but don't worryI'm not a runner.

What I really want is to bond deeply with my person or family. I'll be loyal and devoted, and with the right guidance, I'll make sure we're a team. It's important that my new family helps me learn not to become too guardyI'll need to know you've got my back. In return, I'll be the best companion you could ask for.
