We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Hi, I’m Buddy! I am a beagle, all 31 lbs of me! I’m a petite boy who loves to run around outside. I am crate-trained and house-trained because I am the goodest boy. I have a classic beagle howl and love to smell all the things. I require a large fenced-in yard with a height of at least 4 feet and no holes where I can escape to chase those darn squirrels. I haven’t had much experience on walks but am very interested in learning. My foster mom says I am very smart and learn new skills quickly. I need someone who is willing to take the time to teach me how to walk on a leash properly. I am the bestest at playing fetch and will run at full speed to catch a tennis ball.

I’ve been told I am very sweet and affectionate. I love meeting new people and will sit for treats. I love attention and love from anyone. I can read the room and go with the flow. I quickly settle inside after I get the exercise I need. I will follow my foster sister around the house but ultimately prefer to snuggle with my hooman. I looooove to play with my sister but will listen to her when she tells me enough is enough. I’m obsessed with stuffies and like to play tug. Treats are also my favorite and I don’t discriminate on which kind. Eating food is a highly preferred activity. I can’t get enough of that kibble!

I am the happiest when I’m with my pack. I really don’t like to be separated from them. I hate my crate but will settle after a few minutes (as long as I don’t need to stay in there all day). Someone who works from home or is able to let me out to run midday would be ideal.

My foster mom says I will make someone very happy because I am a special boy.

He will be going to his adoptive home under a foster to adopt contract until his neuter is complete. You would be required to get him into our vet clinic for 7:30 am date TBD, in Rochester and then pick up (3 to 4 pm) from rescue to finalize adoption at that time. For this reason we will not adopt to anyone outside our immediate adoption area. All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
