Meet Buddy is in Seattle!

Buddy is looking for a foster or adoptive home with a single person or an adult couple. He is well mannered and walks well on leash. He's a fun walk partner who particularly needs structure within the home. After he gets comfortable, he can get protective of the people inside the house. He's crate trained so should be crated when visitors come over.

***Meet Buddy! He's a sweet loveable 40# terrier mix who is approximately 3/4 yrs old. This guy has lived with a trainer so he knows sit, wait, down, leave it and place. Buddy is friendly outside his home and is crate trained. This little guy loves going for walks and wants to please his human. Buddy's only request is when people come into his house he IS crated. He does not like non residents in his home. This shouldn't be a problem since Buddy enjoys hanging out in his crate.

Dear Auntie Carla and Auntie Karin,

True story: while I was outside doing my business this morning, a bird did his business right on my head! Some humans say that’s good luck! Which means I’m probably going to find a forever home soon, right? Or maybe my good luck is we ran into John on our walk this morning and he opened a brand-new bag of treats just for me! John hands out treats to all the dogs who walk their people along Lake Washington Blvd. He doesn’t believe my foster mom when she says I’m “selective” about some dogs and humans. I take treats more politely than any other dog on the whole boulevard! Ask John if you don’t believe me. By the way, about my selectivity…do you like everyone you meet? Really? Everyone? Even people who look at you weird or people who might mean you harm? No, you don’t. So why do I have to like everyone? My foster mom says I don’t; I just have to be nice to everyone. I’m working on that, but if someone is threatening my people or our house, I can’t just sit there and let it happen. The problem is I can’t always tell when someone is threatening us. I’m trying to let my foster people be the leaders while I just hang back and be the dog. But a good dog also protects his people and his house. At least, that’s what I believe.

Love,
Buddy

Buddy traveled from Texas to Washington where he went through a training program. He was fostered for a time in Kirkland with a couple. He walks nicely on leash, knows sit, stay, place, kennel up. His foster mom has also taught him how to shake and roll over. His adoption includes a take home private lesson. Although he likes kids, he will do best in a kid free/cat free home.

Buddy is about 3-4 years old and weighs 40 lbs. He's very affectionate and loyal to his people. He's friendly outside the home but he can be territorial of his home. He'd make a great walking partner. He loves car rides and playing with stuffies. He doesn't enjoy all dogs, so we'd like to place him as an only dog or with a like-minded canine friend.

Buddy is a good dog who will make the right person very happy.

His adoption fee is $500 which covers his transport, neuter, vaccinations, microchip, training and a private lesson to teach his adopter all he knows.
