Buddy Australian Shepherd Tucson, AZ

Buddy is a 50 lb, 1 year old Australian Shepherd, possibly a mix. He is a happy, playful boy that loves to run and wrestle with his dog buddies in the back yard.

Buddy is completely deaf, blind in his left eye and has limited vison in his right eye. But don’t feel sorry for this guy, he gets along great and has absolutely no issues with his lack of senses. Buddy is mostly house trained and uses a doggy door. He also loves attention and sometimes doesn’t realize how big he really is. He’ll try to climb in your lap or jump in bed when he feels he needs to be the center of attention. Buddy gets along great with all types of other dogs and is even very tolerant of little nippy dogs getting in his face. We have not tested him with cats, but we don’t see anything in his behavior that would indicate he would be a cat chaser.
The perfect family for Buddy would be somewhat active and have an interest in helping Buddy make the most of his world. He really needs a brother or sister (or 2) to play with. Buddy already uses other dogs to help him guide his way. He does not need to be babied but his lack of hearing will require some compensation (you can’t call him for dinner) and Buddy could not go off leash in an unfenced area. On the plus side, Buddy sleeps through almost anything, fireworks, thunder, doorbells, and door knocks don’t faze him a bit.
Buddy is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations and is ready to go home with his forever family right now.
