Foster insights/backstory: Bucky was dumped on a busy highway near a small taco stand in the early hours of a frigid winters day. The lady who witnessed this lives nearby and relayed the story to me. The man who dropped him off had him stuffed in a dog crate that was two sizes too small, and had been driving with the crate strapped to the back of an open trailer… obviously freezing the poor boy. She witnessed the man pull over, get out and pull Bucky from his crate then quickly get back in his van and speed off.
Bucky was obviously confused and kept pacing in the street searching for his owner. As this kind woman did not want him to be hit in the traffic, she brought him home to a temporary shelter with her other dogs and then listed him in a local online forum asking for anyone that could take him.
Bucky is a very sweet, and gentle dog. He’s young and full of energy. He’s great with our other 9 dogs, large and small. Bucky loves attention and the two walks he gets every day. He doesn’t tug on the leash and is not food aggressive but he LOVES to eat. He comes back when he’s called unlike some of our other fosters and would probably benefit the most from someone with an active lifestyle that loves the outdoors. He’s mostly house trained now and knows how to sit and shake.
