Bruno Australian Shepherd Mix Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

REQUIREMENTS: live in the Rochester NY area (within 1/2 hr drive) and have a physically fenced in yard for pup to safely run and play.

Bruno is a very sweet 3 month old 20 pound Australian Shepherd Merle (mix?) dog with beautiful tan coat freckled with medium and dark brown spots. He attracts attention wherever he goes due to his cute looks and friendly personality. Currently he is crate trained and mostly leash trained. He knows “Sit”. “Stay” is difficult especially when he wants to be with his human. He does still have a little trouble letting someone know when he needs to go outside but has significantly improved in the past couple of weeks after recovering from a UTI. He loves playing with his older foster sister and other dogs he meets. He has been around cats and generally ignores them after meeting them briefly. He is not a “retriever” and currently has no interest in chasing balls, but loves chewing them. He recently met a small toddler and was careful not to knock her over, but at the same time he still knocks over his food and water bowls frequently. LOL! He would benefit from a home that can give him a lot of attention/companionship and commit to taking him to training classes.
He will be going to his adoptive home under a foster to adopt contract until his neuter is complete. You would be required to get him into our vet clinic once booked for 7:30 am, date TBD in Rochester and then pick up from rescue (3 to 4 pm) to finalize adoption at that time. For this reason we will not adopt to anyone outside our immediate adoption area. All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
