Bruno's Story
Meet Bruno, affectionately known as Cowboy. He’s a charming 5-year-old Bully Mix, who came all the way from Texas and is now ready to find his forever home.

Weighing about 60 pounds, Bruno is a loyal, people-loving companion with a big personality. He’s food motivated, eager to please, and happiest when he’s included in daily life. Bruno is the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate devotion — truly a “Velcro dog” who loves to be close to his people.

Personality & Perfect Home

- Bruno is active, intelligent, and affectionate. He would do best with an active family who can include him in their routines and adventures. He’s currently fostering with a senior medium-sized Pitahoula, two indoor cats, and even a macaw. Bruno does well with all of them under supervision and is learning how to respect everyone’s space.
- He has not been around young children and may do best in a home with teenagers or adults. Bruno has barked at a few men he met, so a patient family that can help him build confidence through positive introductions would be ideal.

Bruno’s strengths include:
- Friendly and affectionate once he trusts you
- Crate trained and comfortable in his crate
- House trained (he learned quickly!)
- Food motivated and smart — learning commands like “sit”
- Can live with dogs and cats when properly introduced
- Active and playful, but enjoys relaxing at home too

Training & Behaviour
- Bruno is a quick learner who responds well to consistency and positive reinforcement. He’s working on leash manners — he can be excited and pull at first but settles as the walk continues. He’s not reactive and enjoys getting outside to explore.
- Bruno has been calm in the home, shows no chewing issues, and barks only when the resident dog alerts him to something outside. He’s improving daily with structure and routine.

Ideal Home
Bruno would thrive in a home that can:
- Include him in regular activity and companionship
- Continue his training and provide structure
- Offer patience, consistency, and affection

Bruno is a loyal, loving, and playful companion who’s ready to share his heart with a forever family. With time, patience, and a bit of guidance, he’ll be the perfect best friend.

Crate trained | House trained | Fully vetted, vaccinated, and neutered

Contact us: info@thedogrescuesociety.net
Learn more: www.thedogrescuesociety.net
Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/UQhEM1qeQfVHcx6D8
