Meet Bruno

BRUNO OCTOBER UPDATE - His transformation is AMAZING!!! You would not believe the change in this beautiful boy! When he arrived, he was very overweight, confused and sad. With walks, thyroid meds and a big yard to explore, he has dramatically dropped the pounds and gained so much more energy and silliness. He now gallops up and down the steps he struggled to climb up that first night. Bruno loves being inside with his foster mom but will sit at his favorite window and sound off at the delivery trucks, yard crews and kids playing in view - even hummingbirds! Bruno dances around when he sees the leash for his walks and loves being brushed. He feels so much better and is so ready to find his forever family! He knows they are out there somewhere looking for him too!

BRUNO AUGUST UPDATE - Down to a spunky 95 pounds and jumped in the car ready to go!!!

BRUNO UPDATE- Bruno has shed some excess weigh and is now down to 111 pounds and getting more active. He does have a thyroid issue and is taking medicine to control that (which is relatively cheap), so he is really ready for the next adventure in his life!

Bruno is a handsome extra-large mixed breed weighing 129 pounds! He is 7.5 years old, house trained, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and pretty easy-going. He has a chill temperament but will alert you if strangers are about and not take them for granted, otherwise just quietly hanging out with his people is his favorite thing to do. He is dog social (does well at a dog park), but is not up for a rough-housing canine relationship. He has been fine with children, but we recommend no small children. Bruno needs to lose weight and although he is a large framed dog he is putting a strain on his body carrying the extra weight and showing weakness in his rear legs on stairs and we are working to help him lose those extra pounds. Bruno is a JCAPL alumni. He was adopted out at 3 months of age and has been returned, due to no fault of his. His adopter is ill and having to relocate to seek medical attention and leaving Bruno is heartbreaking.

Are you interested in adopting Bruno or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to help@jcapl.org, faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Bruno.

Thanks for thinking adoption!
