Bruiser is a sweet, fun dog who can be nervous at times with new people (especially men) and loud noises. He lived successfully with children as young as 1 year old, ,and would be okay with kids of any age with responsible parents to be there for all interactions. He has not done well with cats in the past, so no cats in the home. He did well with a young female dog tester, but did have multiple scuffles with a male dog in the home. The right dog would be fine for him to go home with, as long as owners are aware they will need to watch them in the home.
We always recommend crate training, exercise, playtime, and a regular schedule for potty breaks when bringing a new dog into your home. The shelter environment is much different than your home, so expect the unexpected. We do our best to help find the right pet for you, but your new dog may act differently on your turf than he/she did on ours. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!
Included in the adoption fee are rabies (if applicable) & distemper vaccinations, heartworm testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery.
