Brownie is one in a million dog and a 6-year-old Havanese / Poodle mix. He was surrendered by his young owner who had two children and was moving can't take. She had been keeping him in a dark basement for many years. If you saw the condition he was in when we picked him up - it would have broken your heart. We bath him gently and cut the mats out and begged a groomer to see us the next day. He received a total shave down and we were glad to see the smelly old coat fall to the floor. Since he loves attention he would not mind being the only dog and we feel that is the preferred placement for Brownie
He appears to be housebroken but most have routine and use a crate for at least 3 months. Remember he was not cared for and left in isolation in a basement.
He loves people and other dogs. We believe he is okay with confident cats. He will need a dental by year-end and getting him grounded first and in a routine is what he needs next. He is 6 years old and the owner has his birthdate and was bought from a "USDA breeder". Poor Brownie - he suffered but he is so sweet and the suffering did not affect his personality. This was truly a rescue and the reason we keep going.

This organization will only adopt to fully fenced yards with traditional fencing. We consider only wood, vinyl or chain link. Applicant must be the homeowner and have a prior or current vet reference.
Do you babysit or have children in the home? If so, we would like the ages to be 12 years old. We have no background or history and many dogs have never lived with children.

We preform a home visit to ensure your dogs are happy with your decision. We are fenced y yards only, children must be over 12 if living in the home. Please advise us if you babysit your grandchildren as not all dogs are compatible with young children. Homeownership a must-have.
