Brodie Boxer & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Sarasota, FL

Looking like a hairless wonder, is our boy Brodie. While his looks may not do him justice, this little guy has a heart of gold. Coming from a pretty poor background, it has taken some time to get this pup used to being just that, a dog again.
Brodie was terrified of water, avoiding anything other than his water bowl. His skin was in desperate need of healing, and medicated baths were a top priority. With the help of staff and volunteers, his skin is looking so much better, even if his hair has not come back. He was also not very social, and did not understand what we were doing in just an attempt to pet him. He is now showing affection with those he trusts, looking forward to those butt scratches and head pets that he feared in the beginning.
Brodie goes home most weekends with his Woof Pack leader, Violet, and her husband Marc. There are several other dogs in the home and Brodie has been slowly introduced to them all making every weekend a fun and social time for Brodie.

"Brodie came to us in preparation for hurricane Milton. He joined us and our 4 adult dogs. Frightened and out of his element, his first instinct was to lick my face. Yes, he looks like a prizefighter, but has the temperament of a lap dog. His tail wags constantly.
Brodie had a horrific start in life, being left outdoors until his skin was terribly burned. As I understand it, he had almost no hair on his body and suffered constant pain.

Brodie has vacationed with us every weekend since. Violet gives him medicated baths and his coat is slowly recovering. He has never shown anger or aggression. Only licks and tail wags. We have gradually introduced him to two of our dogs and they immediately became friends.

What is clear, is that Brodie loves people and other dogs. He loves running in the yard with the other dogs, taking long walks around the neighborhood, and spending quiet time on the rug. I believe he will quickly become a loving member and protector of some lucky family. "
