Meet BRIENNE!
MEET BRIENNE!
This big, beautiful girl is around 12 years old and was shockingly found as a stray and brought to Philly's animal control shelter. We were happy to have her join us at City of Elderly Love so we could get to know her, fix her up and allow her to find the perfect family!
Brienne is a "sturdy" girl. And by that, we means she's a bit shorter with a large body and she loves to push it into you for love! She LIVES to be loved and currently lives with other dogs. She would do well in a home with other pets with an appropriate introduction. Brienne is, not surprisingly, very food motivated! She also loves to lay outside in the grass on sunny days. We don't know much about her history, but this sweet girl is well loved. She has some arthritis in her shoulder so shouldn't do long, long walks, but does enjoy a loop around the neighborhood. She may have some trouble with a lot of stairs as she ages, but has no problem doing a few in order to get in the house. Brienne may not know many tricks and isn't too interested in learning them, but her love is unconditional and boundless!
Brienne has been fully vetted since coming to City of Elderly Love. It was found that she had a mass on her spleen which biopsy showed as benign, but she had the mass and her spleen surgically removed to avoid future issues. During surgery it was found that had ingested some foreign bodies (likely during her time as a stray since she has no issues with eating things she shouldn't now) so she had those removed as well. Brienne also had mammary masses removed and biopsied which were benign. Needless to say, she had quite a bit going on medically after likely not receiving vet care for years but we took care of it all and she's now ready to hit the adoption market!
Brienne is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also heartworm and lymes disease negative. Interested in adopting her?
