Meet Brewski

This guy has been in the rescue with us for 86 days! This pup is sharing his story again in hopes of someone falling in love with him! ♥

Have you ever felt like you didn't belong? I have. When I was born life was good. I was with my mom and siblings. However, my owners did not want to keep us anymore and started giving us away at only 6 weeks old. Someone took me home, probably as a spur-of-the-moment decision since I was free. They were nice, but they didn't know how to care for a puppy. They fed me hotdogs and milk. When they realized that they couldn't care for me, they tried posting me for free again. This time when someone brought me home they wanted to make sure I ended up somewhere safe. They reached out to this rescue, and finally, I landed in my foster home.

I was excited. I finally had some stability in my young life and even better would soon find my forever family. Well, a couple weeks to wait for my final vetting has turned into a couple months with no one applying for me. Now I absolutely adore my foster home and they adore me. But, I cannot understand why no one is applying to adopt me. Since I was a pup, all I have hoped for is a forever family. And guys, I am SO ready to find them! I want them to experience my puppy stage, I want them to get to know my goofiness, and show them just how much love I have in me!

My name is Brewski and I am an 18-week old male that weighs about 30lbs now. I am sure that you are curious about my breed, well so am I! It was originally said that I was a Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mix. Now that I have gotten older, I have developed all these cool black spots, so maybe I have some Dalmation in me? And now that I see to be filling out more than growing I wonder if I might have some American Bulldog in me? Whatever the breed(s), it created one lovable, goofy, and sweet fella!

I think it is important to know everything there is to know about me before bringing me home. I want my new family to be my forever! So, I have compiled a list of things I believe may be important for you to know about me.

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

*Where are you being fostered? Do I need to pick you up? Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
I am being fostered in Sand Springs, OK. Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ? Yes, I am okay moving to a new state

-Do I do well with strangers?
I am a happy and super-loving boy when it comes to meeting new people. I am excited about the attention and playtime they might give me!

-Do you enjoy going places?
Since I am still young and was just recently fully vaccinated, my foster has not taken me to any public outings. I was friendly with everyone at the vet clinic, though.

-Do you enjoy walks?
Since I am just now old enough to start leaving the house, I have not started my leash training yet. In the past, my foster just carried me when we needed to go somewhere.

-Do you like road trips?
I have been on a few car rides and have done well.

-Can I trust you to free-roam the house, even if I am away?
Well, I cannot say how I would do with full run of the house. But currently, when my fosters are away, I am baby-gated to a certain area of the home and do well.

-Are you potty trained? What about kennel trained?
I am not yet potty trained. I am working on it, but I will need someone that is willing to work with me on it. My foster doesn't kennel, so I have no experience with one.

-What do you like to do for fun?
First off, I love to carry around sticks and toys if you give them to me. I will run around all over the place, proudly showing off my prize. However, I don't chase after anything you throw. I would rather you go get it and give it to me. I do seem to like playing in the water. I am unsure if I would actually go swimming in a pool or lake, though. I do enjoy playing with my toys.

-Would you do okay living in an apartment?
I am an energetic pup. If my new family lived by a lot of walking trails and were home a lot I would probably be fine in an apartment setting.

-Are you good with dogs? What about cats? Can I trust you with my kids?
I am being fostered around other dogs and cats. I do great with dogs and am very playful! I am good with cats but may try to play with them. I can be quite energetic so, the kids should be older. I may be a bit too energetic for toddlers and accidentally scratch them when I want to give lovings in the form of hugs.

-Is there anything else that I need to know about you? Any quirks?
I had a bit of a rough start and can be protective over my food. It is best to feed me separate from the other dogs if you can't watch. Occasionally, I may try to protect my toys from the other dogs as well. I am also a HUGGER! I love giving hugs and while my foster is working with me on this, I am probably going to give my new family lots of hugs as well! ;)

-Can I hear what your foster has to say about you?
"Brewski is an active and playful pup! He will happily show off his sticks, balls, leaves, and anything else he can carry around. He will bring it to you several times, although doesn't quite understand why you toss it away from him. He tends to stare at you until you go with him, pick it up, and give it back to him. Then, he is back to proudly showing his prize off!

Brewski is very active when he's in play mode. Then he crashes hard to sleep. Brewski has a big dog attitude and has played well with dogs twice his weight. He doesn't back down while wrestling with the other fosters.
Brewski is not a lap puppy. He's too busy investigating the world around him. With that said, he gives some of the BEST kisses around. He adores attention and loves human companionship. So, while he isn't a cuddly "stuffed animal" that you can carry around all the time, he is one LOYAL and LOVING boy! ♥"

That was a lot of info...I know! But I hope I was able to answer all your questions! Now that you have decided if I am a fit with your family or not, let us figure out if you are the right family for me! :)

My ideal home would have
*Another playful dog
*Be on the active side
*Want a dog that is always up for adventures! Hikes, jogs, trips to the lake, playing in the backyard, and so much more!

If you fit most of the above, then fill out that app and bring me home! Because I am ready! ?

*My adoption fee is $275. That includes two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
