Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
We are currently accepting adoption applications for Brandy (Bourbon) - IA.
Brandy is a breeder-release from a Beagle breeder. She is classified as a Lemon (Red & White) Beagle. She is approximately 22# and is smaller than the standard Beagle size. She is shy to humans until she learns to trust and warms up. She needs more one on one time and would do well as an only furbaby, or one other dog to help her learn a new routine.
Brandy prefers male dogs as a companion; she displays dominance around other females.
As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Brandy is crated at night only and at this time, she keeps her crate clean and dry. She has not had the opportunity to have accidents in the home. Her routine is consistent.
Brandy is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Brandy acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Brandy to acclimate to the drastic changes in her life.
