Meet Brandi

In July, 2020 Diamond Dogs Rescue took a pregnant dog that was ready to have puppies any day. That dog was Brandi. The message from my friend in rescue said, "This is a soon to be momma that is being kicked out of her home. Can you take her. We are over-full"
And I learned that being kicked out meant the landlord said she was too larger for the owners to keep her.
And that she would likely be having those babies anytime time now!

Well, she had her beautiful puppies and all were adopted....then it was Brandi's turn and she also was adopted. But, the family is unable to keep her and we are looking to re-home her to THE RIGHT FAMILY for her this time around.

A plot hound mix she is not large at around 40lbs and has been fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. Brandi is a sweet ,friendly and enthusiastic girl. She is very lovable. Loves children and is not aggressive at all with them -although we’d recommend older kids bc she’s really strong (for when she jumps, to walk her). She lives with two children 8 and 9 years old.

She loves other dogs. We believe she would do really well in a home with another dog to help keep her occupied/stimulated (she plays hard and does better with same size or bigger dogs bc of her enthusiasm).

She would do well with a big yard to follow a scent and explore (and/or another dog). She needs more beyond walking and yard play. She’s definitely a “working dog“ and has a lot of stamina for exploring and playing. A good energy level means we will be looking for a family that can meet her needs. A fenced yard would be preferred but if you're active and jog, hike or go on adventures that would be just as good.

Brandi is house trained. She knows sit, lie down, (sometimes) stay and release. She still pulls some on the leash but has made a lot of progress. Just to give you a reference, my 9 and 8 year old cannot walk her on sidewalk because of her strength. She does fine in car.
