Meet Brady

Brady is a VERY handsome, loving and strong 65-pound black tri-Aussie. Brady loves to play fetch, adores other dogs, rides well in the car, is good about having his beautiful coat brushed and is learning to have his feet wiped. He even attends doggy daycare! Brady is VERY affectionate. He LOVES his humans and he LOVES attention.

Brady is being offered as foster to adopt because he needs additional training to become his best self, which ARMA will provide. At only 3 years old, Brady has bounced around a lot. An irresponsible breeder allowed an elderly inactive couple to purchase Brady as their pet. Within a year, one owner died, and two years later the second owner was placed in memory care. Brady received vet care and affection but did not receive enough socialization, mental stimulation or physical exercise. A family member placed Brady in a home, but it was not a fit; Brady does not do well with children. Finally, to keep Brady from going to a shelter, a neighbor who knows and adores Brady stepped in and contacted ARMA.

For a dog that has had little socialization, he's remarkably well adjusted in many ways. But he can be reactive in public places, and he is a jumper and nips when he jumps - a terrible habit. Brady will need consistent training and a dedicated owner to overcome these behaviors. He is food motivated though, which will come in handy with his training. (In fact, he's so good motivated that he will counter surf and rummage the trash for goodies - another habit his foster is working to break!)

Brady's perfect foster to adopt home is one with an owner that is committed to Brady and his training. Brady will excel with a patient and dedicated owner willing to introduce him to activities such as hiking, agility, or nose work. Keep in mind that as a young Aussie, Brady needs to exercise his body and mind, so just a walk around the block or a couple of games of fetch in the yard is not enough for Brady. Because he's currently overweight, he doesn't have the stamina of a typical 3-year old Aussie, but once he gets down to his ideal weight, we have no doubt he will be more active.

Brady is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Because Brady is a foster to adopt candidate, ARMA will pay for all vet care and training until all parties feel he's ready for adoption. If you're an approved ARMA adopter and think you can provide Brady with a perfect home, contact the ARMA volunteer with whom you've been working. If you'd like to become approved for ARMA's foster to adopt program, please visit our website and apply.

ARMA requires you to provide a vet reference and have a home visit, which can be done virtually. If your current or past companion animals are not up to date on vaccinations, you will not be approved to adopt.
