Brad is an older chap looking for a calm home where he can alternate between naps in the sunshine and soaking up some ear scratches. His owner passed away, and Cochise Animal Control came and got Brad from the only home he has ever known. Brad had a melon-sized lipoma on his side. Cochise Animal Control put out a plea to the rescue community. They knew he was an older dog, in need of medical attention, and they hoped a better-equipped rescue could step up. Home Fur Good made the journey south and brought back Brad. He is a 10-year-old, 90- plus-pound German Shepherd mix. Brad had several lipomas removed, lumps under the skin that occur due to an overgrowth of fat cells. A lipoma can cause pain and discomfort; the lump on his left side actually weighed four pounds! Brad quickly had the skip back in his step and a large smile on his face with his discomfort gone. Brad no longer acts like he needs a retirement home. He is spunky, full of wags and wiggles, hoping you will be taking him out of his kennel for playtime. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
