Boyington was surrendered due to vocalization when his owner left the home. He wouldn't be consoled by anyone left in the house. He has made great progress in his foster home with a stable pack and reinforcement from the family when his foster mom leaves for work.

With a guesstimated birthday in Jan. 2022, Boyington weighed 51 lb at his neuter in June 2023.

Boyington loves to ride in cars - tethering in the back will help him stay out of the driver's space. He is comfortable in a 54" crate to allow him to raise his head and sprawl if he chooses.

On walks, Boyington has a tendency to circle his handler due to excitement. He is working on calming during walks.

Boyington is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. He would like to sleep in the bed, but this isn't allowed at his foster home so he graciously sleeps under the bed - there's high clearance underneath for him.

With big dogs, small dogs, and puppies in his foster pack, he's learning to be gentle with the littles and puppies. With the bigger dogs he doesn't quite know how to play. Socialization and supervision will be important in his new home.

Boyington's adoption fee is $800 firm.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies.

Not all foster dogs are available for viewing during public events, held most Saturdays at Tractor Supply (360 Blowing Rock Blvd) in Lenoir, NC from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete.
