Meet Bonnie

Bonnie recently came back into our care when her young owner tragically passed away. Bonnie was rescued from a hoarding situation in south Dallas about 6 years ago as a young dog. She is approximately 7½ years old now. She is a timid dog, that does best with another dog in the home. When she was adopted, she thrived because her new home was calm and patient. Her human mom taught her what love was all about and she soon became her mom's shadow when she was at home. Bonnie could be left for hours in the house while mom worked long hours. She laid in her bed or on the couch and waited patiently, more comfortable being left at home waiting for her mom and her dog brother to come home. Her dog brother, Mac, often accompanied Talena to work at the airport, but Bonnie happily stayed at home. Bonnie would do best in a calmer home - *With another friendly dog(s) * with a routine and maybe an occasional walk, but that's not necessary. She walks well on a leash. *with no small children ( she still gets nervous with fast movements and new noises).
Bonnie is easy.. she loves her routine, her bed and going out in the yard to frolic with her doggie friends. She is cat friendly. We have never heard her growl or bark. You can touch her whole body and she just watches you nervously with big eyes. She watches and once she trusts you, she wants to be in the room with you and will approach for a pat on the head, but we wouldn't expect that for a few months. We have taken her to be groomed and she rode well in the car, walked well to the car, jumped right in and rode quietly in the back seat. She is the most affected by her mommy's death and we want to find her a home that will match her needs but we need some time .. can you help us and her buy that time and foster this sweet girl please?? Or if you'd like to adopt that's even better! Please fill out an application ASAP and we will call you. www.laprescue.org
