With a sad heart, Mr. Bolt got returned to us today. He did fine in the home he was adopted into on 1/28/22 with the other dog - he loved having a four legged friend. However, it was reported upon his return that he was jealous of the child in the home. They reported he did "attempt" to bite the child but was not successful. Apparently he did hit the child in the face with his head and left a red mark.

Sometimes we get pretty frustrated when what we think is a good match and people just don't give the dog the required time to adjust.

Bolt has been in the shelter since January 2021 - he has done very well here at the shelter and is definitely a staff favorite. His original owner said he didn't get along with the new girlfriend's dog and that is why he originally got surrendered. He is a big boy so a home with another dog close to his size to play with would be best.

Based upon the reported jealousy issue - we will not adopt him into another home with a young child.

His adoption fee is $100.00. He is housebroken, current on shots, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. As you may remember from his prior post - he recently had to undergo a couple of surgeries and it was discovered he doesn't have male or female sexual organs. Due to his injury the vet did remove his penis. He is on a specialty diet as he is prone to bladder stones.
