Hi there, I'm Bobby Socks! I like having a silly name, because it suits my zest for life and playful spirit. I love to have fun! I'm happy, friendly, bouncy, and so smart. I like to stay busy and I'm ready to be your constant companion. I haven't been able to truly experience much in life yet, but I intend to make up for lost time. If you'd like to come along for the ride, I'd love to have you join me in my journey as I learn about all the great stuff that life has to offer. I'm ready and I hope you are too!

I'm an adorable, 1 year old, 35-pound sweetie-pie, with beautiful, shiny fur, perky, expressive ears, and a charming, delightful personality. I think I may even already be housebroken. I try my best to keep my kennel area clean and I go to the bathroom as soon as I get outside. Please be patient as I get acclimated to my new routine, but I should be well on my way. I came to Wayside after I was rescued from an animal hoarder in Texas. I lived a sad life of neglect, but it was all I knew. It was just a scary and confusing time for me when I moved to Kansas City. The big shelter feels sort of stressful and lonely, but I'm doing my best to make lots of new friends. I sure hope I won't be here for long. Every single day, I watch for you to walk through the door asking to meet me. Maybe today will be the day!

I like to be out and about, living life and learning new things, so I don't care much for my kennel. One of my favorite things is when the volunteers take me to the Wayside agility park. I am a rockstar with all the activities! I chase balls, go through the tunnel and rings, and I have even mastered the A-frame. I feel so proud when my friends tell me what a good boy I am. I like to sniff and explore my surroundings too, and my tail never stops wagging. I walk pretty well on my leash. Sometimes I pull, but I'm working on that. I just get so excited to be outside with special friends.

I hope you will take the time to teach me all about life and to show me the ropes as I experience the real world for the first time. Please stay patient and calm with me, and teach me in a positive way. If you praise and encourage me when I'm a good boy, I'll quickly learn what you expect from me as my confidence in myself continues to grow.

It takes me a little extra time to warm up around other dogs. I'm sort of uncomfortable and insecure around dogs that get in my face and pester me to play. I will need to meet the whole family, including kids and other dogs, before we go home together, to make sure we're a great fit from the start. I've been through a lot of instability in my short life, so it is important to me that I find a family that will be the best match for me. I'm looking for a home with kind people who can understand my insecurities, laugh at my silly antics, and help me navigate and learn as I go.

Seeing me today, you'd never guess I had such a difficult past. I am resilient. I have so much hope for my future. I can't wait to share my life with you and to be by your side every step of the way. Being part of a real family, with everything that goes along with that, is all I've ever wanted. I can't wait to be your dog!

Love, Bobby Socks
