Blue Terrier & Xoloitzcuintli / Mexican Hairless Mix New York, NY

Blue is an 8-10 month old, 30-pound lab/terrier mix from Tijuana! He is still adjusted to living in New York City, and is coming out of his shell more and more every day. Blue loves to cuddle more than anything. All he wants to do is climb into your lap, look at you with those big golden eyes, and get pets. He also loves to chase a ball around and he enjoys learning new things! Blue has mastered "sit," and even offers it on walks when we stop at lights. Blue is also crate trained and is working on "touch" and "down."

During his time with his foster family, he has been working on house training. He doesn't use pee pads; he very efficiently goes outside by his favorite tree! Blue is still working on his leash skills. His foster sister, a chihuahua, is helping him with his confidence. He wears a leash really well, but can be reactive when passing other, larger dogs, on walks.

Blue is a gentle, goofy, and curious dog. His forever family will need to continue working with Blue to reinforce and advance the progress he's been making.

Blue has done remarkably well in his crate during the day. He shows no signs of separation anxiety. He also sleeps quietly through the night, in his crate. Blue loves to be cozy with his foster family on the couch, and can often be found with his favorite orange ball. Blue is looking for a medium to active family. He appreciates both his downtime, when he can nap and be quiet, and active moments when he can play with his toys.

He would benefit from living with another dog but could also be a solo pup. Blue does well with other dogs when introduced properly. We would recommend Blue go to a home with older children or no children.

Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, canine coronavirus, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention due xx/xx.
