Meet Blazer

Meet Blazer! Blazer was adopted to an amazing home but even though we had tested him with cats, we learned that when living with them 24/7, he just isn't a good fit :( The family tried so hard for a month with training and lots of work and they were heartbroken! So now, Blazer is available again to a home with no cats ... He is a 2 1/2 - 3 yr old Black Tri Aussie (possible mix) with a full beautiful tail. He LOVES to run and play and does well with others once he gets to know them but he has met a small handful that just don't click so an in-person meet and greet with ALL furry family members is a requirement before adopting. At his foster home he plays with dogs ranging from 12 - 70 lbs but honestly he would also be perfectly happy (and may prefer) being the only dog and getting 100% of the attention and love! Because he is such high energy we recommend no small children. He LOVES the water and goes in the pond almost every day! His ideal family will be very active and hike, play fetch, run, and take him on adventures regularly. They will need to continue to work with him on his social skills and basic obedience training. Children in his previous home had no dog manners and were allowed to drag him around by his neck and tail and crawl on him - he truly has some PTSD from this and any quick movements to grab his head or neck make him jump in fear ... any children in his home need to be aware of this and his FURever family has to be patient and willing to work slowly with him when meeting any new people. He was heartworm positive when he came into rescue but has been treated and is on regular monthly prevention now. He will need to be retested for HW in a couple months and if he is still positive FOR will pay to treat him again.
