A Little Bit About Me

Blake was recently surrendered to Marin Humane. He didn't get much socialization as a young dog, so we're working on showing him that the world is not as scary as he thinks it is. Blake is one of those dogs who still thinks he's a tiny puppy. When something spooks him, he either startles and cowers or runs to one of his favorite humans for safety. He's come a long way since he's been with us. But as we all know, the shelter is no place for a sensitive dog. Blake was extremely timid at first, and was more comfortable around men than women. Now that he has a few friends, he's starting to trust more people. Blake also LOVES other dogs. He was gentle with dogs of all sizes in a playgroup at the shelter. It's so cute to watch him run and play! He throws his arms around and bounces all over the place. Blake continues to come out of his shell, he has started showing us his exuberant, adolescent side and we've experienced some happy jumping. Blake seems to be housetrained, but his previous home seriously limited his freedom in the home, so be prepared for a period of adjustment when you bring him home. Blake has some training and is learning touch, sit and down. Make sure to sign up for Family Dog 1 or Bully Breed Basics to help Blake learn more skills to help him cope in the world.
