Blackfeather is a four year old, very curious boy adapting to retired life. He would love nothing more to have a home that has constant petting hands available!

Although Blackfeather is older he is not lazy! He is an outgoing and energetic guy and will need a home that can take him on walks and play with him to avoid boredom related issues. He also has the typical greyhound stubborn streak when being asked to do something he feels is unnecessary to living his best life!

Blackfeather will do best in a home with older children (12 and older) due to his playful nature he is not suitable for a home with younger children.

While Blackfeather is kenneled trained he would live his best life in a home where he doesn't have to be kenneled for long periods of time.


This dog is being fostered in the Des Moines Area. We do not ship dogs. Adopters must be committed to meeting the dog in the area it is being fostered.

The adoption fee for HGA is $300.00. This fee pays for medical costs including spay/neuter surgery, shots, parasite treatments, teeth cleaning, microchip and microchip registration fee. Each dog also comes with a special sighthound collar and leash set and muzzle. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
