Meet Black Jack

Black Jack came to our shelter when his time was up at a rural shelter in Georgia. Thanks to the best rescue partners, Jack was saved just in time. Like most Chow Chows, Black Jack is a cautious boy when meeting new people. He warms up quickly with some treats and sweet talk, but will make you earn his trust. Once Jack warms up, he is a fabulous dog. He gets along very well with the other dogs in his foster home- large and small.

Jack is about 8 years old and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered; vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella; and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He tested negative for heartworm is current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Black Jack MUST be adopted to a home with Chow (or akita/shar pei, shiba) experience. There will be no exceptions. He needs a quiet, adult home WITHOUT cats. Jack would benefit from a home with a well-balanced dog to be his companion.
