Meet Bjorn

This handsome guy is Bjorn. He is only 1 year old, neutered, current on his vaccines, and microchipped. He came to us by way of The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County.

Bjorn is a true gem. He loves everyone that he meets and especially loves men. Bjorn is very food motivated and loves learning new tricks. He knows sit, stay, down, come, and he’s in the process of learning how to spin! He knows his name very well and will almost always come when called. Bjorn is very gentle with children and will start wagging his tail as soon as he sees them approaching. He is not possessive over toys or bones at all.

Bjorn does have a lot of energy but with some creative games and an active owner he will do just fine. His foster family currently takes him on two walks daily and they also have playtime in the house, which is just perfect for him. Bjorn loves playing with his foster brothers and could spend hours playing with other dogs. When he sees other dogs on walks, he will sometimes get excited and want to say hi, although it is easy to correct this by redirecting his attention and keeping him moving! He has never growled or barked, just whines and pulls in their direction. Overall, Bjorn has great leash manners, he doesn't pull very much, and enjoys trotting next to his person.

Bjorn LOVES to snuggle and will do his best to curl up as close as possible to you. He loves his people more than anything and will always great them with a wagging tail and wiggling body. The one thing that his forever family will need to be careful about is his desire to eat anything that looks yummy to him. When left home alone, Bjorn needs to be crated or else he will get into anything he can find. He is fully crate trained and enjoys spending time in his crate even though he may whine at first, but he will quickly settle down.

Bjorn has not been introduced to cats but has been introduced to rabbits through a fence. He is now confident and calm when in the same room as rabbits as long as they are fenced off. He definitely has a prey drive but it’s possible he could be okay in a home with small animals depending on their enclosures.

Overall Bjorn is an awesome dog who will be an amazing addition to pretty much any family. If Bjorn sounds like the boy you’ve been searching for, please let us know by submitting an adoption application – https://www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.
