Meet Birdy!

Birdilia, BirdieBaby, Birdalicious…she answers to it all! This ball of black sugar is the sweetest little soul who has hit a few rough patches in her life. Her owner loved her very much but became very sick, unstable, and unable to take care of her. Unfortunately, when Birdy was found, she had been locked away in a cage for several weeks and was near starvation.

But don’t cry for Mz Bird! She bounced back quickly with love and joy in her little dog heart!She is awesome with cats and other pups; we have never had her around kids, but she is very loving to all friends and family who come to visit.

Birdy is always a hungry girl, so free feeding might be tricky. She just needs someone to tell her that she’s full. Like Scarlett O’Hara, she has vowed “I’ll never be hungry again!”

She is approximately 9 years old, 55 lbs, with no medical issues or concerns. Birdy is a great girl who just needs another chance at love.

Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
