This little Birdie told us she would love to find a new home in time for Christmas!
Birdie was picked up as a stray with open wounds on her back from either a large bird or a dog. Fortunately, she got the medical attention that she needed and a loving foster home to recover in. Now that she all healed it is time to find her a home.

Our girl Birdie is believed to be a Chihuahua mix, who is about 5 years old and weighs 7lb. Her foster mom describes her as "a perfect companion dog." She is a low energy, quiet dog, who would be well suited for apartment living. She really enjoys following her foster mom around the house and snuggling up on the couch.

Birdie is good with other dogs, but would prefer to be an only dog as other dogs can sometimes get on her nerves. Birdie would be fine to share a home with cats. She does not have much experience with children, but based on her nature we think she would like a calmer and quieter home. Visiting children would be fine, or in a home with older children/teens is preferred.

Birdie is housetrained. However, as with any new rescue dog, adopters should plan for continued housetraining, especially in the transition period. Birdie does okay on leash, but new adopters should also plan for continued leash training. Birdie is already neutered up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and microchipped.

Adoptions in CT, NY, NJ, RI, VT, NH, ME, PA, - NOT MASSACHUSETTS, due to canine quarantine restrictions.

PLEASE REMEMBER: The specific breed of any dog abandoned to
