Meet Bindy

***Bindy the cutie is ready for someone to welcome her to the family!***

From her foster mom:
"Bindy is a 4-year-old, 84lb female Great Pyrenees mix. Bindy is so sweet and loves to be with her people. She is super smart and knows several commands. She can shake, sit and lie down. She loves to chase squirrels outside and plays w toys and snuggles while inside. She loves getting her feet wet in the pool but doesn’t get all the way in. She wants to please her people very much."

Bindy originally came to us when she was around 6 months old after she found herself in the shelter. This girl quickly stole the heart of her adoptive family and was adopted out in 2019 and has been with them since. Unfortunately, her owner recently had to make the hard decision to surrender her back to the rescue. Her owner had some medical issues arise that would leave her unable to properly care for Bindy, along with that she will soon be selling her house and moving into a senior retirement home. Unfortunately, none of her family members were able to take Bindy on so the owner had no option but to surrender her back to us.

While we are bummed that Bindy has to be passed around again, we also know that sometimes that is just how life is. And now, we have the chance to find her FUREVER family. Her future family probably wasn't ready for her 3 years ago, but hopefully, they are very ready to welcome her home now! ♥ Trust me when I say, Bindy is not a dog you want to miss out on. From having awesome house manners to having one of the sweetest temperaments around...you will be falling in love before you even meet her!

Bindy loves car rides and does great on road trips. She is also a big fan of going on walks. Bindy is the type of dog that prefers people over other animals, so wherever her people are...she is! She would absolutely love going places with her new family, and would be a total attention hog when it comes to meeting new people! Belly rubs are one of her favorite things and it doesn't take long for her to drop and roll over for belly rubs! When people come over, Bindy does really well with visitors. Like a proper guardian dog, she will alert you when people come to the door, but once she sees all is fine she is quickly joining the mix to say hello. Bindy is not a jumper, so you don't have to worry about being tackled by a bundle of fluff. However, she has to get your attention somehow so she utilizes the famous "Pyr Paw" when she wants attention. Thankfully, she is pretty gentle about it. Bindy does great when it comes to meeting new people, but she is also quick to befriend other dogs. It doesn't take her long before she is playing the day away with them! Bindy enjoys going for walks and while she does pull a little, is pretty good on the leash. Given her love of spending time with her people and exploring, Bindy would be a wonderful hiking companion.

Bindy enjoys playing with her toys, chilling in the shallow end of the pool, and playing with the other dogs. While Bindy enjoys getting her feet wet in the pool and playing outside, she is quite calm and chill in the house. She is most playful when she is outside. Bindy is good with other dogs and has a blast playing with them. With that said, Bindy is used to being the star of the show and sometimes gets jealous if another dog is getting attention. Her foster has been working with her on this, and Bindy is getting better at sharing her family's attention but this is still something her new family would need to be okay working with if they have other dogs. Bindy is not currently being fostered around cats. She was originally around them when she was about 6 months old and did well, but that was a while ago. Bindy is not currently being fostered around any children, but her former family said she has been around kids as young as 3 and did well. Bindy is a bigger girl though, so she may accidentally knock a smaller kiddo over.

Bindy would love to have a big yard to chase squirrels in. However, if her family exercised her enough, we feel she could handle apartment living. Bindy is completely potty trained and hasn't had a single accident in her foster home. Bindy has never been kenneled to our knowledge. She can be trusted to free-roam and does well. She isn't a chewer and tends to stick to her toys. I know we touched on this already, but Bindy is a big lover of toys! So, her new family needs to make sure that they have plenty of toys for her to choose from! Bindy has not shown to have any issues with food aggression in her foster home. She also has not tried to resource guard any objects. As we mentioned above, sometimes she gets a little jealous about sharing her person's attention but she has gotten much better about it lately.

Bindy would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to be someone's one and only. She loves to play with other dogs, don't get us wrong. But if she had to choose between people and dogs, it would be people every time. She loves attention and will cuddle with you all day if you let her. She will roll over for belly rubs, go on adventures with you, follow you around, and would soon become your absolute best friend if you let her! If her person worked most of the day, Bindy would enjoy another dog or two to play with. There would be a bit of an adjustment period though as she adjusts to yet another big change, and learns that sharing attention with the other dogs is okay. Poor girl gets worried that she will be forgotten about.

If you are interested in offering Bindy a forever home, you can apply to adopt her at
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will be sent to her foster family. This is to help ensure that it is not only a good fit for you but Bindy as well.

Bindy is being fostered in Owasso, OK. If you have fallen in love with him and are out of state, how about a road trip? We don't send our fluffy butts on commercial transports. So, if you want one of our amazing fluffy butts, it is time to plan a trip to good ole Oklahoma ?

Her adoption fee is $250.00.
That will include his DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. She will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
