Meet Betty Boop
Betty is a Texas girl, an American Bully. Betty is mostly black, has a white chest and some white areas on the bottom of her feet. Her ears have been docked; she came that way. She's weighs 82lbs and as of the 28th of August 2023 she was 14 months old.
You cannot help but love her. She is so intelligent. There is kindness in her eyes. She will look you in your eyes, tilt her head and seems to know just what you are saying.Betty is kennel trained, although I do bribe her with peanut butter in a “Kong” and a biscuit. She stays settled while in it.
She rings bells hanging on the doorknob when she wants to go outside. Betty does fine with my little dog (Shitzu) and my cat, but I watch her because she gets where she wants to play. She was/and has been with children, and does well with all people. Socialized well with all size dogs. Betty does great on leash; she walks at my slower pace and she sits when you stop.
Betty has an allergy to chicken and lamb. She has been doing well on Wholesome Brand Salmon for sensitive tummies and skin. Two cups twice a day right now with a spoonful of pumpkin and large Mother Hubbard Peanut Butter Biscuit after breakfast. Sometimes she’ll con you out of the biscuit first then will eat.
She needs a toy/toys she has a box full of Kong toys and jolly chews and toys. She Loves to play ball and knows what the word means. She will bring it to you, but you will have a tug of war for it (which I can’t win) (I’m 76 years old) “Go get the ball! She gets it! Wait till you see how she tries to get you to play with her; it’s a hoot! She’s so smart. I use cooked liver cut up as treats; get a good response and is cheap.
Betty loves water and playing in a small pool is fun. But treat her ears after. Or in a sprinkler or hose. She gets in the shower with me and is easy to wash with a sprayer. She loves to lay in the sun and roll in the grass.
Betty loves to cuddle; put her head on your neck or shoulder and wants to lick your face. One of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever had, so easy to love.**Please love her like I have been lucky to, she is a great dog!**
bigloverescue.org for an adoption application.
Betty's adoption fee is $350 and her transport fee ranges $185-250
**Due to Betty's size we won't place her in a home with toddlers or small breed dogs. No apartments. a fully fenced yard is required**
