Meet BETSY-Special Needs/Sponsorship
IMPORTANT: The Nature Network Inc. is a small 501c3 non-profit no-kill organization. Most animals we rescue are abandoned at the pound, who no one wants--seniors and special-needs. 100% of all funds are used for them—extensive veterinary and medical costs, prescription meds, rehab, special foods, supplements, and more.

We are deeply grateful for help. To meet us, help us, or if you know people or businesses who would like to, please contact us at:

Mailing: The Nature Network Inc., 3826 Grand View Blvd., #66790, Los Angeles, CA 90066.
We are not like many larger non-profits who use up to 90% of all funds on expensive advertising, enormous salaries, social media, and human expenses.
Our veterinary references are available upon request.

BETSY, now sponsorship only, is a beautiful sleek purebred Black Labrador Retriever companion dog. She is approximately 8 years old, and weighs about 60 pounds. She is happy, loving and affectionate, always wagging her tail enthusiastically. She gets along very well with everyone, and all the other dogs. She had just had another litter of pups before we saved her life.
Betsy is currently on Denamarin, a daily natural liver supplement for elevated liver blood levels (unknown cause) with positive results. She also gets daily Omega 3 fish oils, Flaxseed oil, Vit B complex and Vit C.
Betsy has recently been diagnosed (luckily before serious and possibly deadly seizures have started) as having a tiny growth on one of her parathyroid glands (not cancer) which triggered elevated calcium levels which will eventually become deadly (calcium levels are carefully maintained by these important glands).
Betsy had many litters of pups before we saved her life, and suffered greatly at the hands of her breeders (for whom she made tens of thousands of dollars) who dumped her in the pound to be killed, after she was hit by a car and couldn't walk, having escaped their backyard puppy mill multiple times (the employees at L.A. East Valley Shelter were very familiar with her).
After we rescued her, whenever we were not around, Betsy suffered from separation anxiety and much time has been spent on helping her overcome this issue.
We are now trying to raise the several thousands needed for Betsy's parathyroidectomy and three day and night in-hospital monitoring follow-up. We are also currently fundraising to pay off the over $1800 in diagnostics (ultrasounds, Xrays, blood panels, lab work), and internal medicine and surgery consultations. Betsy has become sponsorship only and will stay with us for the duration of her life. We are used to caring for Betsy and she has human companionship around the clock.
Betsy has been spayed, vaccinated, vet examined, groomed, and will continue to receive any veterinary care she needs for the rest of her life with us. To sponsor Betsy, please contact: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our Paypal sponsorship/donation email address).
