Meet Betsy
Betsy made the trip up from Arkansas to find her forever home here in Nebraska. If you've visited the Omaha Dog Bar, you may have seen going from table to table to make new human friends. She is a little bit reserved with dogs that come in hot, but she quickly warms up to canine companions. She is also happy to make kitty friends, but respects when they decline her invitation to play.
Betsy is an outdoorsy girl who likes to collect sticks, wrestle her foster siblings, hunt down snacks. Besty would sell her soul for treats, so she will be a lot of fun to train with consistent positive reinforcement. She is already a master at sit. She crates well and she sleeps through the night, but give her some patience in a new home as she readjusts. Betsy adores her human friends and loves to snuggle. She takes great ques from other dogs in the home and would love a doggy friend to help her build her confidence.
We don't know much about Betsy's parents, but we would guess that her lineage has lab, so no surprise that she loves food. We also think she may be part shepherd or guardian dog. She likes to patrol and will bark at potential threats (aka the mailman), though truthfully she is a reserved and gentle pup. You may also hear her playing hard with excited barks. That being said, she may not be the best candidate for apartment living.
Though Betsy is mellowing out in her puppy age, her future adopters will need to understand that she still has puppy behaviors – occasional accidents, chewing on item left out, snapping her teeth in playtime. If kiddos are present in the home, Betsy would be a lovely friend to them as long as an adult makes sure that everyone is being safe and respecting boundaries. Betsy is going to be a loving companion for the lucky family that adopts her.
When you adopt through NALA Rescue, your adoption donation covers all initial vetting. Puppies will receive all puppy vaccines and needed boosters (Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, Lepto, Bordetella). We treat for fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, giardia, and any other conditions we notice upon intake. Your adoption also includes the spay / neuter of your pet when age appropriate by a veterinarian in our network.
If you have questions, or are interested in adopting a dog from NALA Rescue, YOU MUST APPLY THROUGH WWW.NALARESCUE.ORG to be considered. If approved, you will hear from our adoption team. Please remember to be patient as we are all volunteers. If the dog is posted, it is available for adoption. Once the dog is adopted, he/she will be removed from this page.
