Meet Bessie

The very first step to adopt me is filling out an adoption application at www.tapsusa.org. Oh, and super important too is that I need to stay in a home within 50 driving miles of zip code 37737.

My family adopted me from TAPS and I spent nearly a year being loved by them. They took really good care of me and loved me so much. Recently, they had a sudden change in circumstances and are moving into a home with a bunch of stairs - which I can't do a bunch of because my hips aren't the greatest. So TAPS is the perfect place for me to be while I am waiting for a new family.

I am an older gal but so much love to give.

I am very lab – love swimming and people are my favorite! I would really like a home where there aren't little children or dogs and having someone home a lot would be a definite perk for me!

After your application is received, it’s reviewed and if we may be a match, you’ll be invited to come meet me!

All scholarship pets are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their new home because that’s the responsible way to keep us all safe.

I do have an adoption fee. While we receive free room and board at Friendsville Animal Center, the adoption fees help to provide food and any medical care we may need during our stay (and pays it forward to other scholarship pets that find their way here).
