Benny Pit Bull Terrier & American Staffordshire Terrier Mix La Grange Highlands, IL

If you are looking for a sweet, fun-loving, playful, slightly crazy, large and VERY handsome boy, Benny is your guy!  He loves belly scratches, treats and playing catch with a tennis ball and frisbees (he almost can get them on the first shot!). I would suggest owning stock in maybe Penn or Wilson and Kong cause he chews the shit out of them. He also seems to enjoy ice cubes and carrots just as much as dog training treats, so he’s super easy for food.  He enthusiastically licks his Kong filled with peanut butter/pumpkin mix. So enthusiastically that you run to his room because you swear he’s choking or chewing something he shouldn’t be! Even though he seriously enjoys his food, he is not food aggressive at all, he a pretty mellow guy in that sense.
 
He likes to be with people, and will generally come over to someone and lean on their legs or flop over for belly rubs after he tries to lick their face off or the inside of their nose!

We are working on not jumping on people when he first meets them, but he’s still a work in progress in the regard. This is particularly problematic for men. He has some sort of radar for the worst possible area and let me tell you first hand he has very big feet! Yes, what we are saying is that Benny will punch you right in the dick. Repeatedly. Who needs a vasectomy when you can have a Benny?

He does fine chilling in his crate for stretches of time with a toy or something to chew on, and is 100% potty trained. 
 
Benny has beautiful, velvety white fur with some tan spots, and he does not seem to mind getting brushed or wiped with baby wipes.  He actually seems to enjoy it – like a massage!  He doesn’t mind us messing with his ears, mouth, tail or feet and seems overall pretty chill in that regard. Yeah I’ve hand to shove my entire hand into his mouth to retrieve some sort of object he picked up in the yard, normal I’d say!
 
Benny is very good with commands, and knows Sit, Stay, Down and will also go to his crate when we tell him.  We are still working on Leave It, and he also recently learned to give paw.  He does seem to have a strong prey drive, so walking him with birds, squirrels, butterflies, bees – really anything that moves, can be a bit challenging.  He pulls a lot on the leash when he sees something of interest, and if he gets really excited, may try to grab and tug.  If you own a farm he would make for a great plow animal! He also seems unsure with other dogs, so it is best for him to be the only dog. We have cats, and he seems slightly afraid of them, but also seems to want to chase them when they move, so probably best to not have cats or other small animals with him either.
