Meet Benji Joe

Hi, I’m Bennie or Bennie boo bear as my foster mom calls me. I love to run and play but I especially love being around the people. I’ll follow you anywhere around the house. I even sleep in bed all night long.

Mud puddles are the most amazing thing to run through. My foster mom always wonders how I can even get mud on the back of my head. Haha. Some simple things frighten me but my puppy siblings help show me life isn’t as scary as I think. I Will need another dog in my new home. I love being with other playful and confident dogs. I can walk on a leash and I'm crate trained. I don’t bark but I do sing along side the ambulance and fire trucks as the drive by.

When I wake up in the mornings I yawn (howl) to let my foster mom I need to potty. If I could run and play all day, I would. I love dog toys, benebones, zoo miss, playing tag and chase. My foster mom says I'm still in the puppy chewing phase but she gives me a squeaker toy or bone instead and I'm happy. I have three foster pup siblings and two cats. As well as three children to play with. I get along with everyone.

Bennie is just over 1, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on heartworm and flea prevention. Please read below about his medical condition

< At 6 months old Benji was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopthy and VTAC. He's currently under the care of a Cardiologist and on meds to help his heart. This is something the rescue can continue to help his future adopters with. We don't know what his future holds in terms of life expectancy. He’s at risk of congestive heart failure (eventually). However, it may take years before going into congestive heart failure and there’s no way to know how quickly or slowly that will happen. You would never know anything is wrong with him based on how he acts. He's normal in all aspects besides his heart>

If you would like meet Bennie and learn more about him please submit an adoption application at Bigloverescue.org
