Benji Labrador Retriever & Collie Mix Enfield, CT

Hi! My name is Benji! ASCZ thinks I am about 3 to 4 years old. I am about 70 lbs and very very handsome - likely a collie/akita/lab mix. Okay - yes, I am a little overweight so we need to work on that! :) Maybe just a few pounds. I was saved from a shelter a few months ago. I was heartworm positive and was treated (thank goodness) and now I am heartworm negative! Unfortunately my owner's situation is such that I couldn't stay with her in my home in Texas. BUT, now I am in the northeast and ready for a new home! What do I need? I have been a JOY and I am EASY! I am great with all the dog personalities in my foster home but would be totally fine as an only too. I really love my people; but with the right dog, I can actually play! I am calm but need more walks and activity to lose a few lbs so someone that can be a little active would be great. My favorite thing is to lounge around the house or in the sun. I am smart and know basic commands, I am housebroken and I am crate-trained but I don't need a crate. I have been just fine left out! I have not been around young children that ASCZ knows of so 10 and up would be appropriate for me. The jury is out on cats; just not sure how I would be with cats!
