Belle - $350 Basset Hound Mix Milwaukee, WI

Belle is a unique and wonderful dog. She is a 6.5 year old 56 lb. Bassett/Lab mix who is totally laid back, intelligent, and sweet. She gets along extremely well with her foster brother, and even watches him eat from her food bowl without complaint. She is is not very food/treat motivated, but does love a "good girl" and pets a lot. So far she has done well with every dog and human she has encountered. She hasn't been around kids yet, but her gentle nature would likely make her a great family dog. She absolutely loves the dog park, and does great with any size dog. Belle just wants to be around her people, and as long as she is in the room with you, she exhibits perfect behavior. She understands that you have to work, talk on the phone, cook, and clean, and she is quiet and polite. So far she hasn't barked at all, and only growled once for a second when she felt that her brother had been threatened. She's fine with one long walk (or dog park) a day, and other than that, short purposeful walks are sufficient. She had a poop accident on her first day,, but none since. She's very quiet in the house and is content to play with her squeaky toys and cuddle or sleep. She hasn't been left alone for long periods, but we're working on increasing the time without stress. She sleeps through the night, and doesn't even hog bed space as long as she gets an occasional caress.
Belle is very intuitive and knows how to handle other dogs perfectly, mostly submissive, but stands up when appropriate. If you'd like a sweet, loving, low maintenance companion, Belle might be the one you're looking for!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- www.luckymuttsrescue.org and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$400+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$350+tax for ages 4-7
$250+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
