Meet Bella the Beagle

Bella the Beagle is a small beagle at 20 pounds and is about 9 years old. She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet! She loves LOVE – as soon as she meets you, she will climb on your lap, gaze deeply into your eyes, and then slooooowly roll over for you to rub her belly.

Bella is wonderful with everyone, including kids. She loves everyone she meets, and LOVES other dogs. She loves going for car rides, wandering in the backyard, and going for walks. She is extremely gentle.

Bella has some special needs, since she had a herniated disc when she came into rescue. Her back was treated successfully with physical therapy, which she will probably need again in the future when she has flareups. She is not feeble-- she's an active dog who can climb stairs, jump in and out of a Jeep, and jump onto a couch. However, she can't do roughhousing, which is the only reason we're recommending a home without younger children. She would love to live with another dog as long as it's of an age to be calmer and not push her too hard. We think her perfect adopters would be an older couple who will enjoy taking Bella on walks.

*** Foster mom update: She is AMAZING in my office. Everyone loves her. She is quiet and sweet.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
