Meet Bella

Bella is an adorable Shepherd mix found as a stray with her 5 puppies, and has since been spayed. Bella was just hours away from euthanasia at her prior shelter simply due to lack of space, but thanks to the efforts of caring advocates, we were able to get to her just in time. Bella is thriving and ready to share her love with a deserving family.

Personality: Bella is a medium energy dog, meaning that she's happy to romp around and play or spend the day snuggled up. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, and she absolutely adores people. She has lived with 3 cats before and seems eagerly interested in them, and has lived with kids 13+.

Training: She has been struggling with separation anxiety when she's away from her people because she just loves them so much - our trainers have been working diligently on this with her where we would make continuing this a requirement for her foster or adoptive family. Bella walks well on a leash and is otherwise housebroken and potty trained.

The perfect forever family: Bella has bounced around from place to place before coming to us at Thrive, which has likely exacerbated her separation anxiety. She needs someone who is committed to her and will show her that you're not abandoning her. She would do great in a two adult household with someone who works from home, as she is not able to be left alone for more than 30min before panicking and becoming destructive. A combination of patience, understanding, help from our trainers, and prescribed sedatives seems to do the trick on helping calm her nerves. Our trainers are confident that she can over come this within the next few months by following proper instruction and guidance. She would do great in a home with or without another dog.

Bella is available to a committed long-term foster or a forever family who is ready to pour love into her sweet anxious soul.
