Bella Siberian Husky White Lake, MI

Obviously, she is beautiful, but we also know you'll probably fall fast for this VERY sweet, funny, loveable gal. Meet Bella. This 7-year-old (DOB 8/21/2018) came to us from an owner's surrender. Her family, which included three children who had raised her from a pup, had to move, and they were afraid about Bella living on a main road as she had escaped several times from their previous home. Her foster Mom relates that she has not seen any attempts to escape from her yard, but Bella does tend to hang by doorways, so maybe the kids let her out. Regardless, Bella is very content in her foster home, taking long naps, asking for love and attention, observing her canine companions, and singing her songs if she's looking forward to a good walk or car ride. We are pretty sure the kids gave Bella a whole lot of people food and or treats, and maybe adults, in her last home, and due to this, Bella was quite overweight when she came to us and with a strict diet (no people food!), and her daily walks, Bella has dropped 8 pounds! With this, her mobility has improved, and she's more active. Stairs are still challenging, but she's working on that goal and having more energy to play. She tends to be a beggar and vocalizes her need for food or a treat. She thinks anyone who walks in the kitchen is getting something for her, and she will be on your heels. She will also plant herself at your feet if you are cooking…. you know, maybe something will fall on the floor!? She also may try to share food off your plate. Foster Mom is working very hard to break these bad habits, and she is slimming down nicely. Bella does get along well with the pups in her foster home but prefers a male companion over a female. She loves any attention from her humans, and she can be a bit protective of her favorite humans. She's not aggressive but pushy to be the first for pets, love, and if treats are involved. Seems she's not with the sharing is caring program. Bella has a taste for socks and will try to destroy and ingest any socks she can get a hold of. We know how dangerous that can be, so a keen eye to keep all socks out of her reach is imperative. She has no other destructive behavior we have seen but is crate-trained if need be. According to her foster Mom, the perfect home for Bella would be….. A family that is home part-time or full-time and that is able to exercise her and give her tons of love, attention, and some TLC. She is such a low-maintenance dog and a good girl. She is a wonderful companion pup. She would do great as the only dog but would be good with other dogs, but she prefers the boys. So, if you are looking for a stunning fluff ball to join you on adventures and give lots of pets, cuddles, and love to, Bella is your girl!

We do require a home visit and a veterinarian reference. Please contact your veterinarian to give them permission to release information to us. Once we have reviewed your application and received a favorable reference from your veterinarian, our adoption coordinator will contact you. Please be patient as this process could take several days.
