Meet Bella

Bella is a beautiful medium/large size pittie mix. She has a stunning golden coat and striking hazel eyes that you can't help but fall in love with. She is a young and vibrant lady we guess to be about 2 - 3 years old and weighs roughly 65lbs.

Bella's human unexpectedly and suddenly passed away a few weeks ago. Unfortunately no one in the family was able to take this amazing little lady and she has found herself in need of a wonderful new place to call home these days.

From what we've been told Bella spent most, if not all, of her life indoors. Was never properly vetted as a puppy and never experienced any real socialization or training. Her first experience in our large ball run was one to remember. You could see "FREEDOM" in bold letters written across her face as she hit the turbo button and went into full on "zoomie" mode. Was a beautiful sight too see.

Although she has received little socialization or training she is proving to be an eager and enthusiastic learner. Especially if there are tasty treats around (watch your fingers!) We are working on her being less mouthy and providing her with leash training. Given a little time, patience and consistency this lady is doing a great job!

She is dog selective and is reactive to most of our dogs at the shelter. She has taking a liking to a few of our more calm natured and friendly males but so far only through fence meetings. We are hoping to place her in a home where she is the only dog in an effort to make her transition easier and because she deserves the experience of what its like to be the love of her people's life!

She has been cat tested and doesn't seem to pay our office kitties too much attention. She is much more interested in receiving human affection, playing with stuffed toys (which have proven to be her favorite), and is very effective at swindling office staff out of pocket goodies!

Because we are still working with Bella on establishing boundaries with humans, we would recommend an experienced adult only home.

This gorgeous girl is young, still learning, very impressionable and so eager to please. We hope you consider adding this little sweetie to your home! She is so much fun and would make an amazing member of the family!

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue (BAPBR) regularly works with the wonderful volunteers at the Del Norte County Animal Control Shelter located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a small coastal town on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can't always come outside to play--so we want YOU to see some of their really great dogs that they have up for adoption. It's only a short 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new family member!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.
